Mini Tummy Tuck
What is a mini abdominoplasty?
Mini abdominoplasty or partial abdominoplasty as termed medically is commonly called as mini tummy tuck or scarless tummy tuck. It is a minimally invasive procedure recommended for individuals having a small excess of fat and abdominal skin below the belly button.
The minimally invasive procedure, minimal risks, and less pain have popularized the procedure and is becoming the abdominoplasty procedure of choice.
Am I an ideal candidate for a mini abdominoplasty?
You will be considered as a candidate for mini abdominoplasty if you have,
- Lower abdominal bulge
- Lower abs or abdominal muscles are stretched after pregnancy
- Slim abdominal muscles and looking to sculpt into a desirable shape
- In men, have excess tissue after weight loss or gastric bypass surgery
What does the procedure involve?
Mini abdominoplasty is a minimally invasive surgery where your surgical practitioner will evaluate for the excess amounts of fat and your health condition before the surgery. The surgery may last for 1–3 hours and will be performed under anaesthesia. Small incisions will be made below the belly button, excess fat and skin are removed. At the end, the skin is re-draped and shaped over the abdomen. For better results and appearance, liposuction, breast lift, and/or arm lift may accompany the mini abdominoplasty.
What are the postoperative instructions?
After the surgery, you may be advised to use compression garment for support and healing for 2–3 weeks.
What are the risks and complications of a mini tummy tuck?
The procedure is considered less invasive compared with typical tummy tuck, and you may experience mild discomfort and pain. Other possible complications include infection, skin necrosis, bleeding under the skin, and fluid accumulation under the skin.
